Our 5 Favourite Self-care Practices

We are all about embracing plenty of self-love at Pure Body Luxe and we believe this starts with self-care.

Through daily practice, these small steps of care can really help to not only preserve but improve both your physical and mental wellbeing, and after all you are worth taking care of. When you feel well taken care of, you are better able to give to other areas of your life whether relationships, work, kids etc. It is time to let go of the idea that self-care is synonymous with being selfish or self-indulgent and redirect that focus to finding what you can implement into your daily life to create habit around prioritising yourself a little more.

Although self-care is personal - we know for ourselves what feels good and what we need in order to feel our best – it's always great to explore and try something new. We have all come up with our number one favourite self-care practice that we do regularly.


1. Light a candle and put on a face mask every Sunday night

Benefit: taking care of your skin and mind simultaneously in a moment of total relaxation. Lighting a candle creates purpose around the action of self care you are taking and are known for their soothing and healing properties. The lovely flicker and glow it creates helps to soothe the mind.


2. Sunrise or sunset walk daily

Benefit: there are so many benefits to walking everyday, some of our favourites being that it improves both your mood and energy levels, improves mental clarity and improves sleep. Although a physical activity, walking creates a peaceful mental space to regroup thoughts and feel refreshed being outdoors.


3. Reflexology treatment

Benefit: reflexology is an amazing way to take care of your body as it improves blood circulation, relieves stress and helps with stress management, helps relieve various pains: back, neck, shoulder tension, headache, as well as boosting energy levels and eliminating toxins from the body.


4. Flotation tank

Benefit: the perfect place to give yourself a time out and relax – a flotation tank stimulates the release of endorphins, rejuvenates the mind and body, alleviates both mental and physical stress, helps with fatigue and improves sleep.
