Pure: How do you nourish and care for yourself as a Woman, Mum, Partner, Friend, Daughter etc?

Jayde: I wish I could say that I have this selfcare thing, but it changes weekly. It depends on my mood, my mental health, how busy I am, what the kids are doing, but I do like exercise – exercise for me is a massive selfcare thing. Having a date night with my husband once a month, uninterrupted with our kids, and then incorporating kids. The girls and I love to have a bath, put some relaxing music on and talk about everything that’s been going on in the week and sort of brings us back and fills up our cups.

Pure: Do you think it is important to know what you are putting on your skin?

Jayde: 1000 percent! I have pretty trouble-free skin, but I put in the work to make sure it stays that way. The older I get things pop up and I make sure that I get a facial if I can. If I can’t I put a mask on at home or I make sure I have a really good face cleansing routine and a skincare routine before I put on my make up. All of it combined, is a Yes!

"Nature is key to life. My husband and I went away on a retreat and immersed ourselves in nature, and what we got out of that was absolutely lifechanging."

Pure: We believe we all deserve to immerse ourselves in what nature has to offer.... what do you do you think?

Jayde: Nature is key to life. My husband and I went away on a retreat and immersed ourselves in nature, and what we got out of that was absolutely lifechanging. I feel like we all need to find the time regularly to switch off and go out whether it’s camping or just going for a beautiful walk and hopping off social media for a little bit. It really does change the way you think about life.

Pure: What is the standout part of your Mum journey?

Jayde: It’s endless. The more they grow, the more memories and the more standout moment you have. Going overseas, making memories whether they are really good ones or really dramatic ones, there’s just stories to tell. Little things in the morning when you wake up and you’ve got kids jumping all over you. One of the biggest things is learning a lot about myself while being a mother – biggest challenges but also one of the biggest rewards.

"One of the biggest things is learning a lot about myself while being a mother – biggest challenges but also one of the biggest rewards."

Pure: How does living a balanced wellness focused life reward you?

Jayde: When I’m not balanced, my mental health goes off, my family is reflected by it, my work is affected by it, everything goes off-kilter. So, living a well-balanced life in terms of exercise and nourishing yourself inside and out, feeling good, seeing friends – trying to make all that happen can be overwhelming. If I consistently have a nice flow and balance of that then I tend to be the best version of myself I can be.
